Our innovation

FXP Festival

Through our work with Cambridgeshire schools, we noticed the lack of aspiration and opportunity for social mobility. With over 50 games development companies in Cambridge, we wanted to build bridges between local industry and children’s career development. With that in mind, we launched FXP Festival in 2016, which became a charity in 2020.

FXP Festival is a computer game narrative, design and coding competition for students aged 12-19. The aim is to inspire students and give them tools to build valuable skills. Whether students are interested in the creative concept and artistic side of game development, or have a passion for storytelling, FXP Festival is open to all students and is completely free to take part in.

FXP Festival exists as an extension of our values as a business – being a force for good. By linking local business to students, we raise aspirations and help them develop career prospects.

After a difficult pandemic period, in 2024 FXP Festival will return to an in-person event. With industry experts in attendance, the event will allow students to learn about the many opportunities on their doorstep while also learning valuable teamworking and interpersonal skills.

CC Insight

It has never been more important to be able to accurately measure the impact of public relations and marketing investment.

Having previously evaluated all the tools available for PR and marketing measurement, we decided to build our own: CC Insight.

With CC Insight we are able to guarantee an accurate, objective and easily digested analysis of the impact of public relations and marketing activities, through the scientific analysis of audience awareness, audience understanding (affinity) and audience action.

CC has been using CC Insight across our client programmes since 2020, and it is a realisation of our values as it enables us to deliver true transparency and authenticity for our clients. In order to be truly effective, measurement must analyse the successful and the unsuccessful activities equally.  This can be challenging and we are committed to ensuring that the insight our clients receive is accurate and free from survivorship bias.

Next for CC Insight will be a continuous review and refresh cycle of how we use the tool, where we can improve it given ever increasing data and metric availability.

We already have a reputation for delivering great events, built up over 10 years. In 2021, we brought Elle into our team as Head of Events, which was a natural progression, formalising our commitment to delivering exceptional public relations, marketing and events services which deliver real results and return on investment for our clients.

Elle and her team focus on delivering quality in-person, virtual and hybrid events, including brand and product launches and media events; conferences, ceremonies and networking events; corporate hospitality – from summer picnics to Christmas celebrations; team building and training; festivals, education and community engagement events.

Since its launch, the team has delivered 22 events with a further 25 on the horizon (from 2022-July 2024). To celebrate our first year of CC Events we rebranded to CC Live, an experience-led service from concept to execution. We don’t just create events for our clients, we create experiences that always exceed our clients’ expectations. It is relatively uncommon for an agency such as ours to have an in-house event service which makes our offering even more unique.

We also use our expertise and dedicate time (pro bono) to working with local charities and not-for-profit organisations to create memorable events and maximise fundraising opportunities for them.

A real delight to work with; professional, meticulous and great attention to detail. They helped us the put on a big event in Cambridge and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who wants top notch event producers.

Joe Chapman, Head of Public Affairs, London Stansted and East Midlands MAG Airports

We worked with Conscious Communication to help us with the launch of our Impact Report, outlining the difference we make in the community. The team was fantastic to work with - a real eye for detail, ensuring that the event lived up to what we had in mind. I’d have no hesitation in recommending CC Live to other charities and organisations.

Sam Gomarsall, Community Trust Manager, Cambridge United Community Trust

It was such fun! Absolutely loved meeting you and Gemma and really enjoyed the event. Beautifully organised. I think the kids had a great time and lovely volunteers too. Very much hope to see you again soon!

Thank you so much for a wonderful evening last night – it was really brilliant and Richard and I had such fun – amazing music, delicious food and drinks and fantastic venue – and so generous. We were so pleased to be included and had a lovely time.

Sophie Costello, Director, Costello Medical

Your whole team put on a great show in every aspect...warm welcome, great food and entertainment...but most of all a very relaxing atmosphere for 100% enjoyment.

The party did showcase really well the size and quality of what CC do now and I’m pleased that we are part of your portfolio and continue to work together.

Martin Lindus, Director, Saunders Boston Architects

Firstly and most importantly, I would like to say a huge thank you again for the amazing Under the Stars event yesterday evening. Rectory Farm really was a very special setting and the weather just about held up for us to enjoy the outside spaces and garden games. It brought together a wonderful group of individuals, so I am grateful for the opportunity to make new connections, as well as catching up with you.

Doug Higgins, Development Director, Socius

You clearly put so much work into making that a fantastic event – and it really was. The food was really special and a definite highlight for us, it was delicious. I got to talk to so many interesting people.

Honestly you guys are so good at what you do. You should be really proud.

Phil Priestley, Founder & Lead Adult Facilitator, Cambs Youth Panel

Well done for organising a superb event last week. Ruth and I had a lovely time and made some great connections too.
